Larry H. Sweet
Larry H. Sweet, age 71, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at UT Southwestern St. Paul Medical Center, Dallas, Texas.
He was born July 6, 1940, in Baxter Springs, Kansas to Bruce and Waneta Sweet.
Larry worked in the Flooring Department at Lowe's for the last 13 years.
Prior to that he owned and operated Sweet's Furniture, Home Rug Company and Sweet's Country Collectibles.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Joplin.
He was united in marriage to Connie Shira on November 12, 1967, in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Connie Sweet, of the home; one son, Brent Sills and wife, Lori of Riverton, Kansas; a daughter, Lanná Foster and husband, Steve of Webb City; a daughter, Tiffini Maynard and husband, Jeff of Amarillo, Texas. Eight grandchildren who were the highlight of his life and who will dearly miss their "Papa", Holli, Haleigh, Trey, Trent, Rhett, Jake, Will and Ramsey. His mother-in-law, Yveta Shira; brother and sister-in-law, Kim and Claudette Shira, and several nieces.
He was preceeded in death by his father-in-law, John "Junior" Shira.
He enjoyed playing golf and attending his grandkids ballgames.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. DiMaio and his entire staff and each and every employee at UT Southwestern who helped care for him during the 72 days he was there.
He received outstanding care that we will forever be grateful for.

Saturday January 21, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church of Oronogo
Burial to follow at Baxter Springs Cemetery in Baxter Springs Kansas.
Visitation:
Friday January 20, 2012, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary
