"Mrs Clarence Messenger - Mrs Margaret Messenger, 81, of Spartansburg, widow of Clarence Messenger, died Sunday evening after being ill six years. Born March 16, 1873, at Spring Creek, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ann Dalton Bates. She and Mr Messenger were married on June 9, 1897, and her husband died March 14, 1945. She leaves a sister, Mrs Nellie Rogers, a nephew, Guy Rogers, and a niece, Miss Elsie Rogers, all of Buffalo; and another niece, Mrs Kenneth Vollbrecht, Erie. Friends may call anytime at the Torrey and Hays funeral home in Spartansburg. The funeral service will be held there at 2 pm Wednesday with Rev Howard Stull of the Corry Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg."
