James Old was a son of the James Old, Iron Master of Quittapahilla Forge.

According to George L. Heiges, author of Henry William Stiegal and His Associates (1948) this young boy James Old was the grandson of Henry William ("Baron") Stiegel. There is a photo of this grave, which is along side the grave of Stiegel's first wife Elizabeth (Huber) Stiegel, in Heiges' book.
