Julius Wilson Dishman, 63, of Island Ford Road, route 6, Statesville, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday in Iredell Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks.
Since his retirement from Pilot Life Insurance Co., he has been associated with his son at Ken's Used Cars on Taylorsville Highway.
Mr. Dishman was born in Iredell County on May 18, 1907, and was the son of the J. T. and Laura Combs Dishman. He was married December 21, 1934 to the former Ruby Bare, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kenneth J. Dishman, route 6, Statesville; one daughter, Mrs. Lessie D. Reid of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, John M. Dishman of Stony Point; one sister, Mrs. Emma Coley of Stony Point; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ina Milholland and Mrs. Vivian Alexander, both to Stony Point, and Mrs. Lizzie Cline of Landis, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Dishman was a member of Stony Point Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. today. Officiating were Rev. Henry Cook, Jr., Rev. Hayden Cartner and Rev. Ernest Austin. Burial was to follow in Stony Point Cemetery.
Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville was in charge of arrangements.
