Seth Crawford, son of John Crawford, married Mary Mutchler. They first settled in New Jersey, but subsequently moved to Lower Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Crawford was a weaver by trade and followed that business until 1851, and then carried on a small farm. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Crawford were the parents of fifteen children, as follows: Rebecca Ann, born January 24, 1824; Margaret Rymen, born November 25, 1825; Elizabeth Mutchler, born January 25, 1827; Mary Jane, born November 3, 1828; Valentine, born & died December 29, 1829; Caroline, born January 27, 1832; Henrietta, born September 3, 1833; Catharine, born February 20, 1835; James Chamberlain, October 23, 1836; George W., born May 8, 1838; Sarah Matilda, born November 15, 1840; Rachel Saline, born June 18, 1842; Daniel S., born May 24, 1844; Susannah, born February 27, 1846; John, born February 16, 1848. Seth served in the Civil War with 4 of his sons and was an early settler at West Point, Nebraska.
