Juanita Harris, age 91, of Sunfield, IL passed away at her home on Sunday, April 13 2005 at 1:30 P.M.
She was born in Muddy, IL on Jan. 29, 1914 the daughter of Elmer Levi Roach and Mary (Kummer) Roach. She Md. Cecil Bennard Harris on Dec. 17, 1930 in Johnston City, IL and he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1993. She was a member of Spirit of Life Christian Church in DuQuoin, IL and the Eagles Auxillary. She worked as a cook at various restaurants in the DuQuoin area including the Perfection Club. She also enjoyed sharing her cooking with family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Ann Zimmerman and husband Harold of Sesser and Clara Louise Miller and husband Ed of Sesser, four sons, William Bernard Harris and wife Doris May of DuQuoin, Tom Harris and wife Janet Sue of DuQuoin, and Richard "Butch" Harris and wife Deborah of TX. Two daughter-in-laws, Mabel LaVerna Harris and Jean Harris both of DuQuoin, a brother Kenneth Roach of San Jose, CA, a sister Leora Cronch of Monticello, IN., 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, four brothers, three sisters, and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at the Pyatt-Harrawood and Epplin Funeral Home in DuQuoin on Wedl, April 6, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in DuQuoin. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tue., April 5, 2005 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M and on Wed., April 6, 2005 from 8:00 A.M. until service. Memorial donations may be made to the Spirit of Life Christian Chuch.
