LYONS--Funeral for Mrs. Eleanor W. Phillips, 80, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, from the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton. The Rev. Lamar Little officiated. Burial was in Boiling Springs Cemetery in Treutlen County.
She died Sunday night, April 29, in a Savannah hospital.
Born in Emanuel County, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Gaston Beauregard and Onie Calhoun Williamson. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College, Statesboro. A retired school teacher, Mrs. Phillips had taught in the Emanuel, Toombs and Treutlen county school systems for 30 years. She was the mother of the late Phil Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Kermit Phillips; a sister, Patricia Williamson of Oak Park; and three brothers, Aubrey Williamson of Tarrytown, Bennie Williamson of Oak Park, and Bobby Williamson of Zachary, LA.
