OAK PARK, Ga. - Funeral services for Gaston B. Williamson Sr. 68, will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the Oak Park Primitive Baptist Church with Elder D.R. Temples officiating, assisted by Rev. Frank Bearden and Rev. W.R. Beall. Interment will be in the Williamson Family Cemetery.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Onie Calhoun Williamson; five sons, Gaston B. Williamson Jr., Edward Williamson, and Bennie Williamson, all of Oak Park, Aubrey Williamson of Tampa, Fla., and Bobby Williamson of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Kermit Phillips and Miss Patricia Williamson, both of Oak Park, Mrs. Carolyn W. Warren of Orlando, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, G.E. Williamson of Waycross, S.R. Williamson of Savannah, G.C. Williamson of Oak Park; a sister, Miss Margaret Williamson of Oak Park and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Howard Murchison Jr., Paul Elijah, Ralph Lankford, Lewis Van Dyke, Dyess Shuman and Tom Caraway.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Todd, Bruce Hamilton, Dr. H.I. Conner, Col. George Smith, Ben H. Boatright, Moses Coleman, Dr. E. Monroe Davis, Josh Lewis, Judge Robert Humphrey, Dr. W.H. Bedenfield (sic), Judge Darius Brown, Fred Peterson, Perry Collins, Dr. O.S. Gross, James Mason, Rufus Hall, Winston Ivey, Dr. Charles Deen, Ray Peacock, Dr. S.S. Youmans, and G.C. Barnhill.
Friends may call at the Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia until 1 p.m. at which time the body will be carried to the church where it will lie in state until time for the service.
