He is also survived by one son, Phillip (wife, Rosetta) Banks of Jacksonville; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gilbert Banks, Jr. (surviving wife, Juanita of Atlanta, GA.) and Claude L. Banks; one daughter, Judy Daniels (surviving husband, Frank of Victorville, CA.); two grandchildren; two brothers, Anderson and Frank Banks; and three sisters, Bernadine and Claudia Banks and Gertrude M. Davis.
Mr. Banks worked many years for Anderson Clayton in Jacksonville, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church.
Services were entrusted to Buchanan and Cody Funeral Home of Jacksonville, Illinois.
