Ole's parents were Ole and Bergit(Stake)Holte. He was born on the family farmstead in West Bank Township of Williams Co, south of Temple. He was baptized at his home and confirmed June 19,1921 at the Temple Lutheran Church.

On Dec 1, 1933, he was united in marriage to Eleanora Herfindahl at Ray,ND. To this marriage they had four children:Duane, Daryle, Vernell and Linda Faye.
