Mrs. Mary Ahr, 68, Route 199, Town of North East, died Monday, September 16, at Sharon Hospital after a long illness. A resident of Millerton for the last nine years, she formerly had resided in Millbrook and Brooklyn. Born in Brooklyn July 2, 1895, she was the former Mary DeVito, daughter of Frank and Ada DeVito. Mr. and Mrs. Ahr were married in New York City on September 4, 1912. Her husband, Herman J. Ahr, died in December, 1955. Mrs. Ahr was a member of the Millerton Grange and of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Patrick's Church in Millerton. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edith Heinsohn, Millerton, Mrs. Dorothy Buckhart, Baldwin, L.I., and Mrs. Lucille Doyle, East Meadow, L.I.; a son John, Westerly, R.I.; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Morano, Brooklyn; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Requiem will be offered Friday at 11 am at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will be in Irondale Cemetery, Millerton. Friends may call at the Valentine Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 pm. The Rosary will be recited tonight at the funeral home at 8 pm.
