Ripley man fatally shot in head on playground

A man was founded shot dead on Monday on a playground in a Ripley apartment complex.
Jaderricko Adams, 18, was struck by gunfire at about 10:30 p.m., said Ripley Police officers, at the Ripley Meadows apartment complex on Gay Street. Adams was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
Adams was pronounced dead on arrival at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale in Ripley.
A person of interest has been taken into custody, said a news release from District Attorney General D. Michael Dunavant on Tuesday.
No charges have been filed, he said, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Ripley department in the case.
Adams has several family members in Dyersburg.
