Adel Dixon Mays, 86, of Conshohocken Avenue, Philadelphia, formerly of Harrisburg, peacefully trans-itioned into eternal life on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Lankenau Hospital, Lower Merion Township. She was born in Sylvania, GA, daughter of the late James and Clide Ada Dixon.
Adel was a member of the United House of Prayer For All People and her favorite Pastime was listening to good old music gospel music and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Hazel Mays Pierce; and Lutricia Mays Hurt; her son, James Mays, Jr. and 2 grandchildren, Carolyn and Harold. She leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille Mays Booker and -Aaron Booker, Sr. of Philadelphia; her 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Adel's life will be celebrated on Friday, July 18th at 11 a. m. in the Sanctuary of her church, 349 Reily Street, with viewing 9 until 11 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
