Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all she met, passed away at the age of 75, in the Okanogan-Douglas Hospital at Brewster with her family by her side. Marietta was born February 10, 1930, at Allen OK, the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel (Hampton) Bartshe. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Porterville, CA where she grew up and met her soul-mate, Glen E. Allen. They were married November 1, 1947, at Visalia, CA. In 1962, they moved to Pateros where she was employed at the Neff's Orchard. In 1967, they moved to Brewster Flats where she worked on the family farm plus helping her husband manage Kingblossom Orchards. She also worked as a nurse's aid at the Okanogan-Douglas Hospital along with being a homemaker. Marietta retired in 1975, after which, her time was spent helping others. She was well known for her wonderful southern cooking. Marietta loved and grew a beautiful garden, and that was where you could always find her singing gospel music that she loved dearly. She loved to entertaing people with her music at church socials, etc. Marietta will be missed by all who knew her.
