She was born December 27, 1925 in Cleveland, WI., a daughter of the late Henry and Elsa (Busse) Matthias. When Evelyn was one year old, her mother died and Henry then married Gertrude Buchberger.
Evelyn attend Cleveland Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. She had worked at Aluminum Goods in Manitowoc and there she married Ralph Kraft of Beaver Dam. Ralph preceded her in death.
Moving to Sheboygan, Evelyn worked at Ross Glove and retired from Lakeland Manufacturing where she was recognized for over 25 years of service. After retiring, she continued to remain active, working for Kangaroo Messenger Service for over 5 years.
She is survived by two sons, Jefferson Henry (Special friend Rozanne Azelton) of California, David Gordon (Mary) of Illinois; one daughter, Susan (Stan) Grycan of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willard (Alice) Matthais of Cleveland and Bart (Betty) Matthais of Watertown; one sister, Gloria (Donald) Hopf of Howards Grove.
In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and their wives, Merlin (Jeanette) Matthais and Elroy (Sadie) Matthias; one sister and her husband Dorothy (Joe) Pitsch.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
