Marguerite in the living room at Maple Lawn Place with the chair brought across the Oregon Trail by the Burkharts in 1847. The statue of Ruth, on the mantle, was purchased in Europe on one of their last trips prior to World War II. The chair is on display at the Albany Regional Museum. Whereabouts of the statue is unknown. Photo from @1946.

Rob & Marguerite at Maple Lawn Place with the chair that came across the Oregon Trail in 1847. This picture was taken on July 28, 1946. The chair is now on display at the Albany Regional Museum in Albany, Linn County, Oregon.

Maple Lawn Place, built completely by hand by Rob Burkhart and his brothers, finished in 1923. Rose bushes were brought back from England, France and other countries prior to World War II.

This picture was made into a postcard. It shows Marguerite milking Rosebud, a registered Jersey cow brought back by ship from the Isle of Jersey. Rosebud was 1st in a line of champions who bore many calves that sold for what was considered a lot of money back in the early to mid 1900's.

Announcement of Burkhart Reunion in 1946. They were usually held at Maple Lawn Place in Albany, Oregon. There is a photo of the 1926 reunion in this memorial with all persons listed.

Burkhart Park in Albany, Oregon. Photo taken in 1966; it has changed quite a bit since then, but this is how I first saw it when we moved to Meeker Hill, just @5m. North of town and not far from Knox Butte where a number of my family are buried.
