Harold W Alcorn, 81, Rockton, Illinois died July 17, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 10, 1926 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Harvie and Mattie (Swab) Alcorn.
Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II and was an employee of the Warner Brake & Clutch Company for 35 years, retiring in March of 1990. Harold married Ruth Belscamper on June 19, 1965 at the Bethlehem Evangelical & Reformed Church in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Rockton United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank Beloit Regional Hospice for their help, comfort, and support. We would also like to thank Home Companions (Floy, Betty, and Jennie) for their special care.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Alcorn; daughter, Linda (Bill) Landerholm; son, Mark (Nicole) Alcorn, all of Rockton; four grandsons, Michael, Andrew and Daniel Landerholm and Mathew Alcorn, all of Rockton; three grand-daughters, Sarah, Kristin and Angela Landerholm, all of Rockton; two brothers, Ralph & Bob Alcorn, Lancaster, WIsconsin; sister, Carol Carter, Livingston, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Phyllis Wagner, Sarasota, Florida, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harold was predeceased by his parents; sister, Eva Bender; sister-in-law, Lois Alcorn of Lancaster; and brothers-in-law, Robert Carter and Jake Wagner, both of Livingston.
Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 21, 2008 at Rockton United Methodist Church, 102 West Chapel, Rockton, Illinois, with Reverend Tom Kingery, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday. Memorials have been established with Beloit Regional Hospice, 655 Third St., Beloit, WI 53511 and the Rockton United Methodist Church, 102 W Chapel, Rockton, IL 61072
