This group of Wade's came from Greenbrier County, Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1837 and settled in Clinton County. Pleasant's house in Greenbrier was sold to a Samuel Smith and is now a historic house that still stands. The records that I have stated he was born in Feb 1759 in Hanover County Virginia, lived in Henrico County, and then served as a Ranger, rank private from 1784 to 1788 in the Indian Wars under the command of Captain William Clendenin and Lieutenant Alexander Clendenin at the fort at the mouth of Elk River on Kanawha where Charleston now stands. Later he married Dorcas (Darcus) Hamblett in Henrico County in 1795 and settled in Greenbrier County until moving in 1837 with his family to Clinton County. Pleasant is on the payrolls for the War of 1812 also, but have not had a chance to pursue that for verification.
