ARTHUR YORK DIES IN HOSPITAL AT 65
Arthur York, 65, of 433 Longview Pl., died at 6:05 a.m. today in St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of six months.
York was employed at the Decatur and Macon County Hospital until last July when he became ill. Before that he worked for the Caterpillar Military Engine Company, Hamman Bros. Transfer and Storage Company and Decatur Warehouse Company. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
He was born Nov. 4, 1887 in Enfield, Ill., a son of George and Laura York and was married in Decatur June 27, 1945 to Mrs. Irene Cole.
He leaves his wife, three stepchildren, Mrs. Eathel O'Malley, William T. Quinlan and James M. Quinlan, all of Decatur. There is a brother, Felix, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Brewer, both of Carmi.
The body is at the J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
