Funeral services for Mrs. Elma I. Melder will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 in Harmony Baptist Church, Glenmora with Reverends Jerry Johnson, Robert McLain and Donny Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Glenmora under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Melder, 93, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 26, 2005 in Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Pine Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Croker Melder; one daughter, Patty Britt; one grandson, Bill Britt, Jr.; her brother, Hadley Butter and one sister, Ruth Jouette.
She was a longtime, dedicated member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was a resident of Oakdale, however resided many years in Glenmora.
She is survived by one son, Felix Melder of Glenmora; two daughters, Geraldine Willis of Oakdale and Bethel Bueche of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Zora Willis and Arlene Holloway, both of Forest Hill; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at Harmony Baptist Church, Glenmora from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, May 28, 2005.
