Samuel Stiles. of Dallas, departed this life on Friday morning, July 22nd, 1887, the immediate cause of his death being paralysis.
Deceased was a highly respected citizen of Dallas, and leaves many friends to mourn his demise. Coming to Oregon in an early day, he embarked in business in this city shortly after, and has ever since been identified with the development of the city and county.
May his remains rest in peace.

Died Suddenly - Early Friday morning July 23rd, the wife of Samuel Stiles, of Dallas, was awakened by the sound of her husband choking and gasping for breath, she left hurriedly for a physician, but upon their return Mr. Stiles was dead.
The deceased was an old resident of Dallas, having settled there about twenty years ago. He was a harness- maker by trade, but a paralytic stroke several years since compelled him to turn tbe business over to his son. He was aged about 60 vears, and was a highly respected and well-known citizen.
