This Plaque is dedicated to the lasting memory of forty-eight soldiers who are buried in a group burial at Ft. Osage 1810-1811 and 1819-1820. Clemson Company - 1st US Infantry were members of the Ft. Osage Garrison. The US Rifle Regiment and the 6th US Infantry were members of the Ft. Atkinson Garrison and were transferred to Ft. Osage after contracting Scurvy.
