George Fritzius (also known as George Fritz) is the son of Johann George Fritzius and Catherine Eva Fritzius (nee Jordan).

His parents came to America arriving on the Ship Belvidere on May 20, 1802. They lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for awhile, then settled in Mifflin Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where they purchased land. Johann George also used the name George Fritz. Some of his grandchildren changed the name back to Fritzius, some did not. Johann George and Catherine Eva had six sons and one daughter. They are mentioned in his 1845 estate papers in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. One of the sons is Jesse H. Fritz, my ancestor.

George married Eliza Stewart (or Stuart) and they had the following 8 children:
Margaret about 1839
George S. (1840-1913)
Mary Alice born May 1842 married William H. Speer
Louis Calvin (1846-1906)
Miss Annette (1848-1908)
Charles Newton born about 1851
Emma born about 1858 married Milton Kirker
Jesse born about 1863
