Lakewood Citizen, Friday January 21,1938:

"Mrs Lydia M Lewis, wife of Willard Lewis, manager of the Second Street A & P Store, died at her home, 240 Ridge Avenue, early Monday morning, following a long illness.
Beside her husband, Mrs Lewis is survived by her mother, Mrs Lydia Woolley of Lakewood; five sisters, Mrs Lida Frazee and Mrs Edna Matthews of Lakewood; Mrs Lucinda Havens, Mrs Lucy Hulse and Mrs Hannah Hulse, all of Herbertsville; and a brother, Samuel Woolley of Maxim.
Funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the late home, with the Rev Marshall Sewell, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Also surviving Mrs Lewis are two step sons, Clifton and Norman Lewis of Lakewood; a step daughter, Mrs E Elwood Kingsley, Jr, of San Diego, California, and an adopted daughter, Mrs James A Lee of Lakewood".
