JAMES E. GILBERT, BLACKWATER, DIES
James E. Gilbert, 38, Blackwater, a veteran of World War II, died at 1:25 a.m. April 24 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington.
The body was removed to the House Funeral Home here, from where services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Lowell Gilbert. Interment followed in the Blackwater Cemetery.
A native of Laurel County, Mr. Gilbert was born May 3, 1926, the son of Felix and Pauline Tedders Gilbert. He was a member of he Ararat Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, residents of Blackwater and a son, Gary Lee Gilbert.
He also leaves five sisters and three brothers: Tevis Pauline Gilbert, Dorlis Pearl Davis, and Danny Dale Gilbert, all of Indiana; Elizabeth Roberts and Arthur Murrell Gilbert, both of Michigan;
Angeline Wagers, Manchester; and Kathy Euline Minton and William Arnold Gilbert, both of Blackwater.
