Mrs. Martha Sullivan, widow of the late John Sullivan of Pittsboro, died June 2 in the English Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was 88 years of age. A former school teacher, she received he education in the former Central Normal College. She and her late husband farmed in Middle Township for many years prior to moving to Pittsboro for retirement. She was a member of the Pittsboro Baptist Church. Services were Saturday afternoon from the Gregory Funeral Home in Pittsboro with the Rev Sherman Essex officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Survivors include a foster son, Robert Harlos, Harrison, Arkansas, and a brother, Amos Marting, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
