Funeral for Adam Bitz, 84, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church Chapel with the Rev. Herman Lawrence, deacon, officiating.
Mr. Bitz died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in Lawton.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1923, near Napoleon, N.D., to Joseph and Margaret Voller Bitz. He grew up in the Napoleon area and later moved to California. He returned to Bismarck, N.D., and had been a Lawton resident since June 2007. He married Marlys J. Westerman on May 5, 1984, in Bismarck. She died on March 11, 2008. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include two brothers: Al Bitz, Mandan, N. D.; and Johnny Bitz, Bismarck, N.D.; two sisters: Isabell Schmidt, Wishek, N.D.; and Alvina Kluth, Nevada; several nieces and nephews and their spouses including Terry and Raymond Geffre, Lawton; and Sherri and Neil Garr, Mandan, N.D.; and several great-nieces and nephews including Jennifer Silkey and her children: Aaron, Madison and Peighten; Wade Geffre; and Kira Ratliff and her children: Adam Geffre and Kevin Johnson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe, Joseph and Leo; and three sisters: Rose, Victoria and Margie.
