PROVIDENCE ~ Uncle Owen Parkhurst’s funeral was preached last Sunday at 3 o’clock at the Christian church by Rev. Wilson. The remains were interred in the Deer cemetery which is a half-mile west of the Village.

Owen and his wife, Mary, joined the Church of Christ at Union, Johnson County, Indiana in January 1862. They were dismissed by letter in August 1868. They moved to Montgomery County, Kansas, but returned to Johnson County, IN and rejoined the church in February 1877.
