Services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Aaron "Corky" Robert Chesnut, Jr. age 77, of Shreveport La. on Saturday June 10, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Murry Hodge assisted by Rev. Billy Crosby. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Chesnut died on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at Willis Knighton Hospital.

Mr. Chesnut graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Forestry, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a Vice President for Olin Craft Paper Mill in West Monroe.

He had a very colorful life and had a tremendous passion for the outdoors. This included canoeing from Shreveport to New Orleans with his friend Bruce McKinney, exploring the jungles of Central and South America, even surviving the bite of a Fer-de-Lance snake. He also had a great love for catfishing. His greatest love however, was always for God and his family. He was a model man and a great father and husband. He will be missed.

Mr. Chesnut is survived by his wife Mina Mejia Chesnut with whom he enjoyed a long and wonderful life; one son Mark Chesnut; one daughter Mirian Dodson and her husband Bryan; two grandchildren Lois and Matthew; and one sister Joyce Hall. He was also blessed with a wonderful extended family, which includes his three nephews Calvin Hall, Guss Hall, and Kirk Hall; numerous cousins in Texas and Louisiana; and several great nephews and nieces. This family always provided him great joy and pride. In addition, Mr. Chesnut was a guiding force for his nephew-in-law Theo Canales and other family members on his wife's side in Honduras.

Pallbearers include; Calvin W. Hall, III, Clifton Hall, III, R. Kirk Hall, Scott Hall, Erick Hall, and Matthew Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be; the Four Seasons Sunday School Class, Bruce McKinnon, Jackie Cranford, Jerry Cooper, and Travis Bedsole.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Summer Grove Baptist Church (318) 686-1470.
