Retired insurance agent Glendon D. Adams, Tecumseh, died Wednesday at the age of 72.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Tecumseh with the Rev. Mack Peercy officiating. Burial will be at Henryetta Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
Adams was born Dec. 17, 1925 in Todd Co., KY to Huby Damen and Edna Ann (Latham) Adams. He was reared in Chicago, IL, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving 1943 to 1946 in Asia and the South Pacific.
Adams married Theodosia Joyce Braly on Feb. 29, 1952, in Waukegan, IL. In 1980, he moved to Shawnee and had lived in Tecumseh since 1989. He was a welder for more than 40 years and worked for Bow Pipe Line in Shawnee in 1980.
In 1983, he became an insurance representative for Mutual of Omaha in the Shawnee area and became the leading sales representative in Shawnee until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Tecumseh.
Survivors include his wife, Theodosia Joyce Adams of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Marie and Bill LeBarre of Harrah, Kathryn Ann and Mark Gaylord of Bloomington, MN; three sons and two daughters-in-law Steven Adams of Carpentersville, IL, Michael John and Diane Adams of Okmulgee, Paul Glen and Shelly Adams of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
