Parents Then Purchased Home Farm Where He Has Just Died—Other Deaths in Columbia County.
Albert Wilcox, fifty-two years resident of the town of Ft. Winnebago, died at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of fifteen months of cancer of the stomach. He was 58 years of age.
Born in Somersetshire, England, he came to America with his parents in the summer of 1856. His father then purchased and located on the old homestead in Ft. Winnebago where Mr. Wilcox now lies dead. That has been his home ever since and tilling the sod his lifelong occupation. He was married twenty-eight years ago to Miss Catherine Ramsey who with four children survives. Mr. Wilcox held various local public offices, among them that of member of the town board supervisors. He was regarded as one of the most successful farmers and prominent citizens of the town. Mrs. Frank Day of Portage and John Wilcox of Marcellon are sister and brother of the decedent.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, from the Wilcox residence at 1 o'clock and at the North Marcellon Baptist church at 2 'clock. The Rev. Mr. Temple will officiate.
