Son of John and Jane Sholar. David Sholar gave the land for the Sholar Cemetery and church.

David Sholar and Eliza Scott were married on December 26, 1844, in Henry County, Alabama. Their daughter, Nancy, was born in Henry County on November 4, 1845. The Sholars had moved to Shelby County, Texas, by October 19, 1847, when their son, John Warren Sholar, was born. In the 1850 federal census, David and Eliza Sholar are listed in Shelby County with children Nancy, 4; John, 2; and Eliza J, 1 month, next to Eliza's parents, John and Nancy Scott.

David and Eliza's infant son, Edward J Sholar, 1 1/2 years old, died on August 3, 1854, and 8-year-old daughter Nancy died the next day, August 4.

David Sholar is my great great grandfather.
