3rd daughter of Alanson Taft & Elizabeth Graves.
Obituary Coleman:
Elizabeth Taft was born March 11, 1847 in Mercer Co. Penn and died at her home in Bell Center Nov. 22, 1920 age 73 years 7 mo. and 11 days.
At the age of 10 years she moved with her parents to Lancaster, Grant Co., Wis., where she resided for two years. They then moved to the Town of Haney where she resided until she was unite in marriage to Harrison Coleman Sept. 5, 1865. To this union three children were born, Clarence, Eva and Pearl. Eva having died in infancy with whooping cough.
Aunt Lib as she is known by many of us has lived in this neighborhood all her years except two yars spent in Dakota.
She was a loving mother, kind neighbor and ever ready to lend a helping hand ever needed.
She was a charter Member of the Rebekah Lodge when it was first instituted twenty five years ago. She filled the chairs with much credit due her and helped to institute the Barnum and Seneca Lodge. At the time the Rebekah Lodge was reinstated here she was a Charter member but owing to ill health has not been as active as in by gone days, She was faithful member of the Gays Mills Methodist Church.
She leaves to mourn her loss one son and one daughter, Clarence of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Pearl Shockley of Bell Center, five grand children, and three great grand children, two brothers and two sisters, Alanson, Absolom, and Mary Holden of Barnum, Mrs. Olive Harris of Riverside, Calif. besides a host of relatives and Friends.
Funeral from Bell Center M. E. Church on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Orrin Sharp Officiating. Burial at Haney Ridge Cemetery....
