Charles Elias Alexander
Charles Elias Alexander, the son of Elias and Emma ALexander, was born, November 25, 1885, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 1889 the family moved to Jackson, Nebraska, where Charles spent his school years.
In 1905 he was united in marriage to Isabelle Barber at Bloomfield, Nebraska, the couple living and farming in the Bloomfield Community hereafter for 36 years.
Their union was blessed with ten children. In 1941 they moved to Mondale, Iowa. In 1956, two years after his wife passed away. Mr. Alexander moved to near Laramie, Wyoming, making his home with his son, Dean.
During the 19 years there, he enjoyed good health and was active to the end of his life, which came suddenly on January18, 1975, of an apparent heart attack, at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, one son Max E., and two daughters, Dorothy, who died at age two, and Mrs. Fern Reynolds.
Survivors include five sons, Donald of Canby, Oregon; Jack of Gladstone, Oregon; Jim of Saratoga, Wyoming; Dean of Laramie, Wyoming, and Duane of Salem, Oregon; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Farber of Omaha, Nebraska, and Bonnie Alexander of Glenwood, Iowa; one brother, Harry, of Harvard, Nebraska; two sisters, Lottie Russell of Mission, S.D., and Addie Fritz of Omaha, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
