Amasa was a farmer and they had Stillman in 1837, Caroline 1838, Alfred 1842, Laura 1843, Abigail 1850, and Sarah 1855. Sadly Harriet died in 1875. Abigail married Samuel Porter Jr. in 1873, the son of Laura Lewis Porter, Harriet's younger sister. Two years after Harriet died, Amasa married Laura on March 19, 1877 in Waterloo. They had only spent 8 years together when Amasa died onJanuary 18, 1885 at the age of 74.
