Virginia Jeanne Funichello nee Albano, Age 86, beloved wife and mother and longtime Encino resident, passed away on September 2, 2007. Virginia was born in Utica, New York in 1921 to Michael and Serafina (Fierro) Albano. She was raised in Utica with her sisters, Carmella, Mickie and Josephine. A fiery redhead, Virginia met Joseph Funicello at her brother Rocky's restaurant, and eloped in 1941. They moved to California to pursue the American Dream in 1945. They raised three children, Annette, Joseph and Michael. Virginia was known for her devilish sense of fun. She and Joe loved to play craps in Las Vegas, bet the horses, and go dancing and party. She was a great friend and cherished her many San Fernando Valley and Palm Springs friendships. Virginia will be sorely missed by her husband, children, five grandchildren and their spouses.
