Popeye was the fur faced son of Sue Lane and Douglas Ward. Popeye knew many human words, and his favorite was 'nighty-night.' When he was told it was time to go 'night-night,' he would get up from where ever he was, and go straight for the bed. He would climb up into the bed and go to sleep with his human mommy. Popeye got to a weight of 24 pounds, so stairs had to be built for Popeye to climb up into the bed as he aged.

Popeye was a little lover cat, and never hissed at other cats or dogs. He wanted to be everyone's friend.

Popeye died of Cancer of the Pancreas and Liver, when he was 15 y 8 m. Popeye was diagnosed a year sooner, but went into remission. God gave us an extra year with Popeye, one that we thanked him for each day.
