Last Wednesday Mrs. Ely went to Red Bank and took supper with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Gramman of Leonard street. Shortly after she returned home she was stricken with apoplexy, and she failed rapidly thereafter. this was the second time Mr. Ely suffered a stroke of apoplexy, the first stroke occurring about a year ago.
Mrs. Ely was 62 years old and was twice married. Her first husband was the late Daniel Wolcott of Eatontown. She leaves six children, they being Mrs. George Magee of Long Branch; Mrs. Frank B. Woods, Douglass Wolcott and Arthur Ely of Eatontown; Mrs. Henry Gramman of Red Bank and Forman Ely of Kentucky.
Mrs. Ely was a member of Crescent council of Daughters of Liberty of Eatontown. The funeral was held at the house Sunday afternoon.
