Beason Southerland married Margaret Jane Buster on July 6 1837. They had 13 children: Unnamed Son, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane, Mariah, William, Winnifred, John, Mary, Thomas, Andrew, Rebecca, Marguerite, and Susan.

After Beason's wife died, he married Dorothy Jane Neathery.
