Died
At her residence in the township of Flint, on the 18th ultimo, of a cancerous tumor, after a lingering illness, Mrs. Jeannette Persons, wife of Mr. George Persons, aged fifty six years.
Deceased was born in Wyoming County, N.Y., in 1823 and came to Clayton, Michigan, to visit her invalid sister, the late Mrs. John Persons, in 1850, and here she married Mr. Persons in 1851; and making their home in the township of Flint at that time, have resided there ever since, where she had won the respect and affectionate esteem of a large circle of friends and neighbors. She was a lady of true christian principals and religious turn of mind, but had not made a profession of religion until the present year, when she joined the M.E.church, and with the christian's hope she passed her last hours in communion with the savior, in whom she peacefully fell asleep at the close. Mrs. Persons leaves two daughters and one son to join with her afflicted husband in mourning their sad loss.
The funeral was held at the residence on the 20th, the Rev. Mr. Kent, of Flushing, conducting the services.
