REEDSBURG - Audrey P. Lange, age 72, of Reedsburg, died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, surrounded by her loving daughter and family in the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 8, 1931, in the town of Ironton, Sauk County, the daughter of Paul and Wava (Hainstock) Herritz.
Audrey was a 1950 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On June 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Evan J. Lange. Audrey worked at Sueltman's Cafe for many years and later at Gerber's until her retirement. She enjoyed doing word searches, puzzles, watching the birds, and nature.
She especially enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Loon Lake in Northern Wisconsin, spending time with her family, friends, and her special lap dog, Cookie. She will always be remembered for her inner strength and inspiration to others. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Evan; two children, Barb (Larry) Roecker of Rock Springs, and Jeff (Anne) Lange of Reedsburg; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Marie Doyle of Minocqua; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Harry Varnes; and her son, Steven, in January 2002.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg with Pastor Amy Swanson officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
