HENRY BOHANNON

In the Name of God amen I Henry Buchanan at Coll Armisteads quarter in Middlesex
County in Virginia being now in the perfect use of my Sences and sound judgment but knowing
nothing more certain than Death and nothing more uncertain than the time and maner thereof do
hereby make my latter Will and Testament as follows whereby in the first place I give my Soull to God
who gave it me and my body to the Earth as it was - I allso do hereby nominate my Brothers Joseph
and George Buchanans to be my Sole Executors universall Legators and Intrometters with the
Whole Goods and Effects Debts and Sums of money household Furniture and others whatsoever
shall be pertaining and belonging or owing to me the time of my deceis whatsoever maner of way
with pour to give up Inventory and Confirme the same and to do every other thing as amply in every
respect as anny other Executors or universall Legators could do in the licke case: all which is to be
done for my Wife for the Love and favour I bear to my said wife and in the nixt Place I appoynte and
ordain my said Brothers Joseph and George Buchanans and Executors for my said Wife To pay out
of my Estate the whole just and lawfull Debts that I shall be owing the time of my Deceis together
with what other Legacies I shall appoynt with the Expences of my Funeralls in a Decent way and
these being paid I leave legat and beqweth the Remainder of my free goods Estate Debts and
Effects in favours of my said Wife Impouring my said Brothers Joseph and George Buchanans and
Executors my Estate is as followeth Viz I have one Negro winch called kett with the incres As also
one Horse sadle and Bridle and five head of Chattle Lickewise my Household Furniture together with
my present Crop all which I beqweth to my said Wife Induring her Life And at her Deceis to be
equally devided amongst my Children lawfully begotten Secluding hereby all others my nearest of kin
from any benefit thereunto And this my latter Will and Testament I notifie and make known to all
concerned in Witness whereof these presents are written in Middlesex County and are Subscribed
by me at the above mentioned place Virga the 19th day of Jully One thousand siven Hundred and
Forty Years

This Will was proved by the Oath of David Snodgrass a Witness thereto and ordered to be
Recorded the within named Exors refuseing to Execute the same Certificate is granted to William
Booten for obtaining Comission of Administration cum Testamento annexo upon the Estate of the
within named Henry Buchanan He (the said Booten) haveing first Complyed with what the Law in that
Case requires

Truly Recorded Test Tho. Price

Russell Hill secured the 100 pound bond that William Booten was obligated to establish in
conjunction with the administration of the estate on 02 December 1740. William Booten (Boughtoun)
was married to Judith Hill, a sister of Russell Hill.
