MR. HALPIN FATALLY STRICKEN THURSDAY

Mr. George Halpin, Sr., age 68 years, dropped dead at his home on Oakford Avenue, about 8 o'clock Thursday evening.
Mr. Halpin was a blacksmith and machinist and had always enjoyed the best of health. He had, however been suffering with a cold for several days, but he would not give up. His sudden death came as a great shock to his family and friends.
When automobiles first came to town, back in 1904-1905, Mr. Halpin opened the first garage and took over the Ford agency. He sold hundreds of Fords and for several years, had the leading automobile business in this section.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude McCormick Halpin; four sons, William, George, John and Walter; several granchildren; one brother, John, and one sister, Mrs. William Layton of Jacobstown.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday morning at the Church of the Assumption, with Father Daniel O'Sullivan officiating. Interment was made in the Church of the Assumption Cemetery, under the direction of Funeral Director John Freeman of Freehold.
