Son of Arthur and Oda (Hawkins) Travis.

He lived in Manchester and Bedford for many years and spent winters in North Ft. Myers, Fla., in his retirement.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving at Guadalcanal in the South Pacific Theater. He participated in the V12 program for officers training at Dartmouth College.

He worked in sales at Auclair Transportation and New Penn Motor Express for many years.

He was a member of American Legion Sweeney Post, Catholic War Veterans and the trucking fraternity Delta Nu Alpha.

He did community service through the United Way and was a frequent blood donor to the American Red Cross.

He enjoyed spending time with his family at his home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough.

IN HIS LIFE: The family includes his wife of 62 years, Theresa (LeBlanc) Travis of Manchester; four children, Teresa Joyce and her husband, Patrick Sr., and Gary Travis, all of Manchester, Kevin Travis and his wife, Sharon, of Bedford, and Karen Rogers and her husband, William, of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Patrick Joyce Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Lori Meservey and her husband, Paul, Brendan Joyce, Kelly Rogers, Kristen Roy and her husband, Jeremy, Matthew Rogers and Holly Travis; three great-grandchildren, Molly Meservey, Erin Joyce, and Shannon Joyce; and nieces and nephews.
