Derwin Cleveland Barner

D. C. Barner of Box 457, Hollidaysburg RD 3, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1979, in the Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Barner retired as a locomotive engineer with the Middle Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1960 after 44 years' service. He was born December 5, 1892 in Perry County the son of Colinson and Emma (Dietz) Barner, and married Catherine Seaman, who died Aug. 26, 1973.

Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Glenn of Greenwood and Wilmer D. of West Loop, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Naomi Walker of Newport, Mrs. Mary Snyder and Lloyd J. of New Oxford.

Mr. Barner was a member of the Independent Evangelical Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Friends will be received in the Donald E. Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

BARNER - Services for D. C. Barner of Hollidaysburg RD 3, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Donald E. Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville by, the Rev. J. A. Steele. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday.
