Charles Beard, native of Bedford county, but. residing in Duncansville for a number of years, where he was formerly employed by the Penn Central Light and Power company, died last night at 8:17 o'clock at his home, 615 North Thirteenth street, having been in failing health since last December.

He was the son of Joseph and Rebecca Beard and was born at Weyant, Bedford county, on Feb. 8, 1881.

On July 23, 1913, he was united in marriage with Ella Steward of Duncansville, who survives, with the following children: William, Earl, Frank , Alfred, Sally, Samuel, Jack, Betty and Barbara, all of Duncansville, and Charles, jr., of Hollidaysburg; one granddaughter and one brother and one sister, Mrs. W. C. Bahr and Herbert Beard, both of Akron, O.

No funeral arrangements have been made pending word from the brother and sister.
