Doris Rogers, 81, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at her home in Show Low following a lengthy illness. She was born June 24, 1926, in Show Low to her parents, the late William Henry and Nancy (Whipple) Lewis.

Doris married Herman Richard Rogers April 24, 1952, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they raised four children. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to her posterity.

Throughout her life, Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served her ward family in various callings. Her gentle humble ways will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Nathalyn "Lyn" Alexander of Show Low; three sons, Richard Rogers (Sandra) of Lake Havasu City, Mark Rogers (Ardyce) of Phoenix and James Rogers (Dana) of Gilbert; three sisters, Hilda Frost of Tempe, Rilla Caldwell of Lakeside and Viola Adams Reed of Snowflake; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, on Dec. 9, 2005, as well as two sisters, Ella McCleve and Marbry Vance.
