Funeral Services Are Held Thursday For Jens Christian Lund
Funeral services for Jens C. Lund, who died Monday morning, June 13th, at his home east of Lake Benton where held Thursday afternoon the 16th, from the home and the Diamond Lake Church. Rev. Harald Ibsen, pastor, conducted both the services and Mr. and Mrs H.J.P. Nielsen sang duets in both the Danish and English tounges. Burial was made in the Diamond Lake Cemetery.
Jens Christian Lund, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldemar Lund, was born July 22, 1817 in Skibe, Denmark. He attained the age of 20 years, 10 months, and 13 days at his death on June 13, 1938. He had long been troubled with a hert ailment and rheumtism, but only in the past few months had his illness reached serious proportions. He was a patient sufferer, never compalining, and was happy when friends came to visit him.
He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs Waldemar Lund, four sistes, and two brothers, besides other relatives and a host of friends. One sister preceded him in death several yeasa ago.
Six of his old comrades, Alvin and Harold Simonsen, Herluf Krog, Gordon Caspersen, Iner Christensen asnd Russel Nielsen, served as pallbearers.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends in their hour of sorrow.
Just when life was brightest,
Just when his years were best;
He was called from this world of sorrow,
To a home of eternal rest.
