ATHENA was the smartest animal that I have ever owned. Almost human-like in her awareness. Her IQ seemed to be that of a 5 year old child. Was just shy of 16 years old which would probably be around 80 in human years.
She would look at you as you spoke and understood what you were saying.
As a pup she was like a little kid that loved to get into trouble. Very playful.
In her younger years, she was swift and agile. She loved to chase squirrels and barked when they jumped into a tree out of reach.
Golden years, were independant, watchful & protective.
She is layed to rest along side of her son
