Death of Robert Yates.
Mr. Robert Yates, 76 years of age, generally spoken of as "Uncle Bobby Yates" died of dropsy at 9:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S.T. Doggett, of Chestnut and Fourteenth streets. The funeral took place from the Doggett home at 4:30 p.m. today conducted by Rev. J.A. Longston.

Mr. Yates was an old resident of Independence and vicinity and formerly owned the Broderick farm northwest of town. His wife died a great many years ago. Five daughters live in this county. Mrs. S.T. Doggett and Mrs. J.A. Stone in this city; Mrs. Bert Frost, at Jefferson; Mrs. Carl Hatton, 4 miles southeast of town and Mrs. J.W. Pitts, 13 miles southwest. Another daughter, Mrs. Will Barnes lives at Topeka. Three sons are living, one at Salt Lake, one in Colorado and one in Missouri.
